Racial slurs and sexism

I was walking in the Westerstraat on my way to the post office to pick up a package, when I walked past a group of older, disheveled (alcoholic) looking men. A man looked at me and said “Arigato” when I walked by. Even with my sunglasses on, he still took the time to identify and point me out as being different. I flipped him the finger. The group burst out in laughter and the white foul mouthed man in the group yelled to give him the other finger and yelled to put them in my cunt and ass.

When walking on my way back from the post office, I walked on the other side of the street to avoid further verbal abuse by this group. I feel humiliated that I don’t have the freedom to walk anywhere as I please without being harassed and that I had to take another route to keep myself safe in the public space.
